First off, its Arsenic and Old lace, Two wonderful and witty old ladies in their beautiful home in Brooklyn NYC are secretly offing old men, staring Cary Grant and Frank Capra Grant has a brother who believes he is Theodore Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama Canal in the cellar of the Brewster home (which then serve as graves for the aunts' victims); and a murderous brother who has received plastic surgery performed by an alcoholic accomplice, Dr. Einstein oh yeah and do I mention said brother looks like Boris Karloff who first starred in the role? The whole thing is silly fun at the Horror genres expense. youtu.be/Ev_v3xgxMTg
Bubba Ho Tep starring our pin up from yesterday Bruce Campbell as a Geriatric Elvis. Thats right IT'S GOOD TO BE KING BABY is now finally the King himself. However No one believes he's Elvis and his best friend an African American John F Kennedy is also mocked for not being the real deal, but they are both stuck in a Nursing Home, powerless and depressed, however an Ancient Egyptian Mummy stumbles upon their Nursing Home and begins sucking the life out of its residents and its up to Old Jack and the King to protect their home and save everyone inside, including themselves!youtu.be/X7Qo74_L3vo
Tremors, because why the hell not? I Loved the original Tremors, its silly, and good fun and not scary in the least. It stars Val (Kevin Bacon) and Earl (Fred Ward) hardworking shiftless layabout live in a flyshit speck of a town out in the middle of the Nevada desert, until a giant sandworm starts eating people. However there is a wonderful cast of subcharacters from the pretty Rhonda LeBeck the seismologist student to Heather and Burt the gn nuts in the hills played by Reba Macintyre and Michael Gross. Theres lots of stupid decisions and jumping about and a horrible rubber monster.youtu.be/KcsLaSBWG9k
I don't like tomatoes, they smell bad, taste worse and make me gag. So I say fuck those "I'm really a fruit!" bastards and nothing is as satisfying as watching these tomato bastards get whats coming to them in ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES! Where a group of scientists band together to save the world from mutated tomatoes that KILL! Its a spoof of the B movie genre and is all in good fun. youtu.be/ebfLWAB8bY4
Did you ever eat the weird marshmallow crap called "Fluff" a hold over of what was supposed to be sandwhich spreads from the 70's and 80's? I did my mom made hers with peanutbutter and called it a fluffernutter, where as when my Dad would make them it was always fluff and jelly (no cute nickname sorry) both where too sweet for me but a spoonfull of the stuff would kill any sweet craving i was having and send it running away in fear. So it made total sense ot me when they turned this sugary confection into a mind controlling terror from outerspace called THE STUFF!youtu.be/uE6Z1nBqLwo
Now for the feel good horror movie of the day Ghost Busters!youtu.be/KvkKX035484
I LOVED the Ghostbusters when I was a little K, my favorite drink is still Ectocooler (fuck you Hi-C for discontinuing that flavor! *shakes fist*) I watched all the cartoons, I still love the songs and always wanted to dress up as Janine for Halloween with my own retinue of Ghostbuster cronies. If you where an 80's kid it was almost as important to have a favorite Ghostbuster as it was to have a favorite Ninja Turtle (Janine and Raphael represent! )
