The lady of the day is Jennifer Tilly, I first saw Tilly in At Home with the Webbers but she was most famous for and earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of the spectacularly untalented Olive Neal in Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway. She reminds me of the old Hollywood starlets with that dark wavy hair, fair skin and playfully intense eyes. She is best known for her signature cute voice youtu.be/2OOFfCsk7qw

The song of the day comes from the band Devil Doll the song, You put a spell on me youtu.be/LAGuKkf5pQU
In 1909 The Living Doll premiered in December, there whereabouts of this film remains a mystery to this day.
1945 brought us Dead of Night a series of shorts the last of which is Maxwell and Hugo the story of a ventriloquist slowly being driven mad by his (living?) dummy. youtu.be/86v2N-GffQM
Then we had The Living Idol in 1957 youtu.be/LXZ97rYlfGE
this is a big jump I know but I wanted to skip to 1995's Tales from the Hood KKK Comeuppance starring Corben Bernsen as Duke Metger an obnoxious and racist Southern senator, and a former member of the Ku Klux Klan. The senator is in his office filming a campaign commercial when he sees protesters outside the office: Jewish and African-American groups have teamed up to protest against Duke for being a racist, a former Klansman, and for setting up his office at an old slave plantation. One individual, Eli (Art Evans), warns the reporter that the plantation is haunted by dolls animated by the souls of tortured slaves. youtu.be/72Zo3HJJFCQ
Doctor Who can be fucking TERRIFYING, if you don't get a little chill down your spine when someone uses the word "EXTERMINATE" or every time you see one of those weeping angels statues your obviously not watching Doctor Who. In the episode,THE GIRL IN THE FIREPLACE the Doctor—an alien time-traveller played by David Tennant—and his companion Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke) find time windows on a 51st-century spaceship leading to 18th-century France and a group of clockwork androids using them to stalk Madame de Pompadour throughout her life.www.metacafe.com/.../
There was the 1987 movie Mannequin staring Kim Cattrall where she plays a mannequin designed by a man who falls in love with his creation but other than this small mention here I will not be including this film as its both boring and Cattrall never got more lifelike after this movie.
Then we have the two quintessential 1980's killer doll series. Childs Play staring Chucky ( and eventually the lovely Jennifer Tilly) and Puppet Master however while discussing Childs Play I wanted to mention a wonderful Charity that I try and give to at least once a year also called Childs Play, please check it out and do some good www.childsplaycharity.org/
Now on to Chucky in 1988 Childs Play the movie first came out the story of a serial killer and voodoo practictioner Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray is mortally wounded and transfers his soul via a voodoo ritual into a child-sized "Good Guy" doll. The doll is found by a homeless peddler, and sold to Karen Barclay, who gives it to her son Andy as a birthday gift. Chucky has to get his soul out of the doll before it turns human and the transfer becomes permanent. In the various films Chucky keeps trying to Kill off Andy, or to get his human body back through various plots and misadventures. youtu.be/WPBiwhf8uAc
Then we have Puppet Master in 1989 about a group of anthropomorphic puppets animated by an Egyptian spell, each equipped with their own unique and dangerous device. youtu.be/soyYhEDDzv4
Up next is Christine made in 1983 based on the novel of the same name written by Stephen King and Directed by John Carpenter the star of the show is the 1957 cherry red Plymouth Fury. In Kings book made it clear that the car was possessed by the evil spirit of its previous owner Roland D. LeBay, whereas the film version of the story shows that the evil spirit surrounding the car was present on the day it was built.
Then last but certainly not least is Living Doll an Episode from The Twillight Zone A story about a frustrated father who does battle with his stepdaughter's talking doll, whose vocabulary includes such phrases as "I hate you" and "I'm going to kill you" www.hulu.com/watch/440807
The recipe of the day is K's Bloody EASY Truffles
Ingredients:
- 9 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 2/3 cup cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup red jam, like strawberry or raspberry
Preparation:
1. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Place the chopped chocolate in a large bowl.2. Place the cream in a small saucepan and scald it until bubbles being to appear around the sides of the pan, but do not allow it to boil. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and allow it to soften and melt the chocolate for 30 seconds.
3. Using a whisk, gently stir to incorporate the cream and chocolate. Add the vanilla and stir until well-combined, but do not stir too vigorously or you will incorporate air bubbles. This is your "ganache."
4. Cover the truffle mixture with cling wrap and allow it to cool to room temperature. Once cool, refrigerate until it is firm enough to mold, about 2-3 hours.
5. Here comes the messy part! Coat your hands with cocoa powder, and have extra powder nearby in a shallow plate or pie pan. Using a teaspoon or cookie dough scoop, scoop out a small ball of ganache. Flatten it between your palms until it is a thin round. It should be easy to work with, and not too soft or sticky. If you're already having problems flattening your truffle, your ganache is too soft, and it should be chilled further until easier to work with.
6. Place a tiny spoonful of jam in the center, and fold the truffle over the jam to cover it completely. This step is messy, and can be difficult at first, but remember that candy making is supposed to be fun, and it's okay to have a few misshapen truffles! Roll the truffle between your palms to get a round shape, rolling it in more cocoa powder if necessary to prevent sticking and to give it a matte finish. Put the completed truffle on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining ganache and jam.
7. Once all of the Bleeding Truffles are formed, place the truffle tray back in the refrigerator to firm up the truffles for about 1 hour. Store Bleeding Truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Allow them to sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving for best taste and texture. If they will be sitting at room temperature for extended periods, they will become soft, so I recommend serving them in small candy cups so they're easier and less messy to handle.
