Joy Division - Something Must Break

2 comments:

  1. Two ways to choose,
    On a razor's edge,
    Remain behind,
    Go straight ahead.

Room full of people, room for just one,
If I can't break out now, the time just won't come.

    Two ways to choose,
    Which way to go,
    Decide for me,
    Please let me know.

Looked in the mirror, saw I was wrong,
If I could get back to where I belong, where I belong.

    Two ways to choose,
    Which way to go,
    Had thoughts for one
    Designs for both.

But we were immortal, we were not there,
Washed up on the beaches, struggling for air.

I see your face still in my window,
Torments yet calms, won't set me free,
    Something must break now,
    This life isn't mine,
    Something must break now,
    Wait for the time,
    Something must break.

  2. Note on this;

This song strikes a very deep chord in me. There has been a time in my recent past where I faced two different paths and had to chose one or the other amongst extreme emotional duress. I had tested the limits in my life to their breaking point, and suffered for it, hell still paying for it. Every day I am reminded in some little manner of that other path. Regrets are not things that occur because you have made the wrong or the right decision regrets are not always things you wish you had done different, sometimes regrets are just things like memories, memories of joy, lust, love, happiness, pain, grief, sadness and longing. Some regrets are thorn in your heart that aches with every breath or just on rainy days. Some scar tissue still hurts reminding you with its pain.
